26 Years...

I have been on this earth for 26 years now. It doesn't really seem that long. In some ways it also doesn't really seem like I should have to be an adult yet. In other ways I feel like I have been here longer than 26 years and that I should be a grandma already. But no matter what it feels like the calender says it has been 26 years.

I'm not sure at what moment in life one feels like a real adult; but when I get there, I will let you know. What I do know is that birthdays as a kid are more fun than birthdays as a young adult. I also believe that birthdays have the potential to be better when you are old, but I will also have to get back to you on that one.

What I do know is that my birthday this year started out as a normal day of work. I went to nanny for about 5 hours and about an hour into it I find out that the kids remembered that it was my birthday and lead me outside where they had prepared a surprise for me.

Over the weekend they decorated their play house for me.
They made a pin the tail on the donkey game for me.

And prepared the table with flowers and bottled water. And then we all got to throw home made confetti.
They loved it so much and they got so excited that they forgot to be extra good for me that day. But I guess it is the thought that counts.

After work Patrick and I decided to go to Red Lobster to use my discount and then we did some shopping. First we went to Target so that I could use my birthday gift card on a swimming pool since it has been so hot. Turns out the swimming pool has a microscopic hole and it leaks very slowly so I will have to get another one. But we (I) had fun that night in the pool after we got home.

We also went to best buy to use a $5 dollar gift card I had won at work back in January. we looked around for a while and then I saw the last Harry Potter Movie that was released and decided to get it since we didn't have it yet. It was $20. So we got to the register and after giving the cashier the gift card she said we owed 80 cents. So I questioned her a bit since I had figured up that we would owe about $16. She told me that the movie happen to be half off even though it was not on the sign and that my gift card was in fact for $10. So I got the movie for 80 cents which made my birthday that much better!
